Oh, this couple is SO precious to me and Jason!  We have known Noah since his childhood – fun facts: Noah was actually an usher at our wedding, and his parents MARRIED me and Jason!  (And I’ve also had the honor of photographing his big sister’s engagement, wedding day, and recently a first anniversary session for her and her husband!)  And I’m so grateful that over the last 11(ish) years, his family has been like a second family to us – during that time, we’ve gotten to watch Noah grow up and grow into a man who is smart, talented, witty, and just a joy to be around, no matter what the circumstances.

Chey + Noah met when they were in high school – he was home schooled but played basketball for the Christian school that Chey went to, so between noticing each other at games and connecting through mutual friends on instagram, their relationship started as a simple insta DM conversation that took place during Chey’s birthday party!  (I mean, you know you like a guy when you’re surrounded by your friends at your own birthday party but you’ve got your phone out so you don’t miss his DMs!)  Technically, their first in-person “date” was to Kroger (Noah had offered to run errands for his mama and Chey agreed to keep him company), and then they made plans to hang out at Chey’s house … and she lied and told him her dad didn’t allow guys to be at her house past 8pm, juuust in case things didn’t go well and she needed an “out” – ha!  Turns out, they really enjoyed each other’s company and she didn’t need a reason to cut their time short.  😉

The rest, as they say, is history.  Honestly, I don’t actually remember the very first time that I met Chey, because she has fit so well into Noah’s life and his family that it feels like she’s been part of our/their lives all along!  She is a treasure – just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside – and Jason and I love doing life alongside these two!  And now, we have the immense honor of mentoring them through their pre-marital counseling, AND we both get to be intimately involved in their wedding day – Jason as a groomsman, and me as their photographer – and I can already tell you, there will for sure be happy tears behind my camera ALL. DAY. LONG!  And I am SO excited for that sweet day!

But first … I get to share their stunner of an engagement session!!!  And y’all, between the soft glowy light + lavender blooms that were showing off for us at the Horticulture Gardens, Chey’s FLOWER CROWN (that she made herself!), and the fact that these two are just plain adorable together in front of the camera (side note: do you recognize them from their sweetheart session this past winter?), I am literally OBSESSED with every single one of their images and I am SO excited to share them with you today!
