If you’ve been around here for at least the last few months, then you might be realizing – like I am – that in-home lifestyle sessions are becoming a thing this year! (This is the second one I’ve photographed a span of 6 weeks!) And I’ve just got to say, I’m a huge fan. I love being able to come into a family’s living space (especially when it’s styled in light, neutral tones like the Davis’s and the Clegg’s homes!) and capture little babes with mama + daddy in their own spaces. These sessions tend to have the same cozy feel as newborn sessions do, plus I love that we are creating memories in a family’s most comfortable space, and I just. can’t. get. enough of it!!
I met Sarah + Brent through our church small group (I feel like I say this a lot about my clients! haha! YAY small group connections!) and it’s been so, so fun getting to know them through our church connections, but also once they became clients! We photographed their maternity session (GAH! still one of my all-time faves!) back in January, and when their little guy arrived super early (and they were in the process of looking for a new home), they decided things were just a little too crazy to try to squeeze in a newborn session. But I’m so, so, SO glad Sarah reached out a few months ago about doing a session before Levi gets too much older. He was about 8 months when we shot this session, and I think that’s just a perfect age to be able to still capture all their little baby traits – like facial expressions and two-teeth-smiles and itty bitty fingers and toes – before they officially move into the toddler stage!
I loved getting to watch these two in their new roles as mama + daddy, and I equally loved getting to meet their little guy and see how he’s experiencing his world right now! Enjoy my faves from my time with the Davis fam!!
Did I mention that another perk of in-home sessions is that it’s easy to include furry family members for a few shots, too?? Dodge has been around almost since the beginning of Sarah + Brent’s story, so it was only fitting that we included him in the session, too!
Y’all, can you EVEN with this little guy’s stylish hairdo?!
Love, love, love these close-up shots of baby fingers + toes in mama or daddy’s hands!
This little guy and those baby blues! HEAVENS!
I love how even Dodge looked right at the camera for this next traditional family photo (on the left)! #winning!
Love, love, love this one of Sarah and her little guy on the left! FAVE.
I can’t resist including this next one because, let’s be honest, sometimes this is life with an 8-month-old, am I right??
It was a beautiful fall day, so we spent the last few minutes grabbing just a few family photos outside in their back yard! (Also, for the record, I’m officially obsessed with Sarah’s hat.)
Sarah, Brent, thank y’all again for trusting me to capture a little glimpse of life as it is right now for you! I enjoyed every minute of our time together!!
