I am SO excited to get to share this wedding day with y’all today!! I have known Nicole since we were in high school (!!!) and – fun fact – she was actually a bridesmaid in my wedding waaaay back in 2010! So when she reached out to me about my availability to photograph their engagement session and wedding day, I was so thrilled to get to be part of her wedding day too! Being someone’s wedding photographer, you get to be there for all of the special moments and it’s really such an honor to have such an intimate role in any wedding day, but especially when I know the bride or groom personally!
Nicole and I live in different parts of the state, so we don’t get to physically see each other very often, and the first time I met Carlos was at their engagement session. And I knew right away that he was the kind of guy you want your friend to marry! He was so thoughtful and sweet in every interaction with Nicole, from helping her out of the car (she’d just had surgery a week before their engagement session!) to gently kissing her on the shoulder every once in a while without me even prompting! (Which, of course, was the most adorable thing ever and then I did ask him to do it a few more times just for the camera’s sake! 😉) After photographing them together during their engagement session, I knew their wedding day portraits were going to be some of my all-time faves because these two are just SO STINKIN’ ROMANTIC together and I absolutely love it!
Nicole + Carlos were blessed with perfect weather on wedding day, and the Middleburg Barn at Fox Chase was a gorgeous backdrop to their classy black + white wedding colors with bold pops of purple sprinkled throughout! Purple is Nicole’s favorite color, and I loved the way they incorporated it into their day – from her shoes, to her birdcage veil and her ombre purple-to-silver locks (and the fact that Carlos was willing to wear a purple suit for his lady!)! In fact, one of the things they loved about the Middleburg Barn was the purple party lighting in the reception barn (you’ll have to scroll all the way down to the party dancing to see what I mean)!
Okay, okay, I won’t keep you waiting any longer … enjoy my favorites from Nicole + Carlos’s wedding day!
I loved Nicole’s earrings!!
A little obsessed with this next shot of the bouquets by my second shooter, Heather!
I love all the bridal portraits we got in the bridal suite, but this next one is one of my top faves!!!
Nicole had a gift for Carlos to open while they were each getting ready in their separate suites, and Heather was able to capture Carlos opening his gift!
It was a personalized, engraved pocket watch!
Next, Nicole + Carlos shared their First Look – a few moments just to themselves, before the day got going in full swing!
The best reactions from both of them…
After the First Look, as always, we’d built in some time for their first bride + groom portraits!
Love this next shot Heather took of Carlos’s pocket watch!
Both of these next two are faves of mine, too – I love those sweet shoulder kisses!
And just like that, it was time to get married!!!
This next frame that Heather took, y’all … it perfectly captures how sweet Carlos is with Nicole. He’s wiping her tears for her. 🥺❤️😭
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
HUSBAND + WIFE!
🎉🍾🥂
I love this next shot of these girls!
Up next … another shot of Heather’s that I love! Carlos and his guys sharing a celebratory drink together!
Loved getting some wide shots of Nicole + Carlos’s first dance under those beautiful chandeliers in the barn!
Aaaaand as if we didn’t already have enough gorgeous images for these two, we had the most BEAUTIFUL glowy sunset light for their last bride + groom portraits! They shared a few quiet moments together, and we got some of my favorite images of the whole day, in just these few minutes of golden light …
Y’all, this next shot on the left … one of my top faves! Everything about it is just stunning!
This next one is another fave! Love how this pose shows off Nicole’s hair piece and veil!
Another fave coming up next on the left. GAH these two look freakin’ amazing in black + white! 😍😍😍
Another great shot of Heather’s up next on the left…
Ending with two more of my faves … my angle on the left and Heather’s on the right! GAH Nicole, my friend, you were a stunning bride!
Remember how I told you one of the things Nicole loved about the Middleburg Barn venue was the purple party lights in the reception barn?! They were a purple-loving-bride’s dream … they gave everything a purple hue, and Nicole, I hope you love it! 😉💜
Here are just a few of my faves from the party!
