I can’t believe I’ve had the honor of photographing so many milestones for this little family!  First, Rachel + Matt’s engagement and wedding day.  Then, baby Emily’s arrival.  And now, little miss Emily is a walking, talking toddler and she’s got a brand new baby sister!

It’s crazy to think my little business has been around long enough to document each of the milestones of a family’s journey, from engagement to each itty bitty new family member, and I’m just so honored and so grateful that this family has continued to invite me into these precious seasons of their lives!  Each one of these seasons has been unique and each of them has been such a joy to capture.  Little did I know, when I met with Rachel at a Panera Bread back in 2016 to talk about their engagement and wedding photos, that I would have the honor of being their photographer not only for their wedding, but also for the arrival of both their baby girls (and hopefully so many more memories to come!), and even better – that every time I get to photograph them, it feels like I’m just getting to catch up with friends.  I realize not everyone’s job gives them so many opportunities for connection and relationship, and working with couples like Rachel and Matt reminds me just how fortunate I am to do what I do (and to have the sweet clients that I have!)!

This year’s session was SO different from Emily’s newborn session!  In fact, we shared a few laughs when we talked about the differences between a newborn session for baby #1 and a newborn session when there’s a toddler bopping around the house!  This year’s session had a lot more energy, and quite a few more words, and even though it was different than the last time they invited me into their home, it was still every bit as much of a treasure because this is what life looks like for them in this season.  It looks like favorite beanie babies and asking “what’s that?” and learning all about this new little baby girl that’s joined the family.  It looks like being a brand new family of four.

Y’all, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of capturing siblings together.  They all have their own unique relationships and their own unique ways of interacting with each other, and I feel like so often I get surprised by a sweet little moment that sneaks up on us (like this next one) and it steals my heart.

Rachel, Matt, I just can’t tell you how much it means to me that you’ve trusted me with so many priceless memories over the last four years.  Thank you for sharing your lives with me.  It’s been a joy and an honor, every single time.
