I met Stephanie through our professional network back when I was still doing mortgage loans full-time, and we’ve chatted several times over the last year about getting her little family on my calendar for a session. I’m SO glad we finally made that happen this week!!! And we really had perfect timing, because it rained for at least a full week leading up to their session, AND it rained the day after their session – but on their session day, we had sunshine and (relatively) warm temperatures in the low 50’s! What a blessing for a mid-February session!
Stephanie and Chris met while Stephanie was in college and the rest, as they say, is history. Fast forward a few years, and they’ve got a precious little girl together, and they get to love Chris’s adorable little guy, Micah, too! I absolutely loved getting to hang out with this little family for an evening (and on my favorite college campus, too!) and I am SO excited to share my faves from their session with you!
I have officially found my favorite little courtyard to shoot in on campus – it has beautiful soft light (we even got a little glow in the background!), it has evergreen trees for a little bit of green even in the winter, and there’s even some pretty ivy crawling up the Hokie Stone! What’s not to love??
I love both of these next photos, but I’m especially fond of this one of Stephanie + Gisele on the left!
Pretty sure this next one is my most favorite shot of Stephanie + Chris on the stairs in front of Burruss Hall!
I’m not going to lie, I’m a little obsessed with this next photo of Stephanie. Girlfriend is SO. PRETTYYY!!!
Micah was SO good for photos – he gave me the biggest smile every time I asked, and it was so stinkin’ cute.
We broke out some bubbles toward the end of our session and I love the images of the kiddos blowing bubbles!
Y’all, this next one … Gisele turned around and smiled at me over her shoulder 100% on her own, without my prompting – and it was the CUTEST thing!
I’m such a fan of mother-daughter moments, and I love this next little moment that happened all on its own …
Okay, I also love daddy-daughter moments. How cute is this next shot?! Daddys always know just what to do to get the giggles started.
I LOVE this next photo. We couldn’t get miss Gigi to sit next to her mama for that “traditional” group shot of everyone smiling at the camera, with everyone’s faces nice and sharp. Instead, we got something better. We got this *adorable* true-to-life candid moment of a three-year-old giggle with her mama + brother in the background. It’s authentic and it’s full of joy and it’s one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken!
Stephanie told me at the beginning of their session that Gisele is in a phase where she thinks it’s hilarious to stick her tongue out when she smiles – so we were pretty sure that would happen at some point, but we weren’t sure when. Peep this next photo of Gisele and Micah on the right! 😉
Stephanie, Chris, thank you for trusting me to capture your little family. I loved spending the evening with you two and getting to know your littles! I hope you love your images as much as I do!!
