I am so glad this little family found me! Mike was a groomsmen in Tracy + Ken’s wedding earlier this year, so it was such an honor that he and Nicole would think of me when they decided to have a family session done! It’s the biggest compliment when someone who’s indirectly worked with me decides to trust me to capture their own important seasons of life, and I hope I never take that for granted! Also, Mike is a fellow VT grad (go Hokies!!!) so obviously, I knew they would be super fun to work with. 😉
Nicole + Mike have been together for 9 years, married for 7, and became a family 5 years ago when Dalton showed up on the scene! It only takes a few minutes with these three to realize just how much fun they have together. Mike always seems to be making his wife smile or his son laugh, and I’m not going to lie, that made my job super easy and so enjoyable! I know these two boys must keep Nicole on her toes, but she’s one of those mamas who chooses to go with the flow and find joy in each day, regardless of the challenges that might come along. (Like when you planned outfits for a fall session, but Virginia decides to give you an 87-degree day instead and you have the best attitude about it anyways! #truestory)
I guess what I’m trying to say is that the Miller family was a joy to work with and I’m super excited to share my faves from our session at the VT Duck Pond!!!
The weather forecast was showing a chance of thunderstorms during our scheduled shooting time, but instead we had a soft sunshine glow for almost the entire session!
I’m basically obsessed with this next photo … how cute is this little guy?!?
Aaaaaaaand I love both of these next shots, too!
Nicole was such a trooper twirling for me in her heels, and she killed it! I love this next shot!
Eskimo kisses are a thing in the Miller house, and I loved capturing a few impromptu eskimo kisses during our session!!
LOVE both of these next images, but especially the one of Mike + Nicole on the right.
More eskimo kisses, and it’s one of my faves of these two. <3
Swinging, because it’s one of Dalton’s fave things!
And this next one, because mamas and daddies should still get to have romantic photos together in the midst of life with littles, am I right?? Love this sweet moment in black + white.
Love, love, love this next shot of Nicole!
GAH!!! Fave of these two… I love how much these two laugh together.
Aaaand I have to end with this fave because Dalton’s just the cutest in this moment!
Nicole, Mike, thank you for trusting me to capture this season of life for you! I so enjoyed spending the evening with you and your little guy!
These photos give me all the feels, and your writings is the cherry on top. This family is pretty awesome and you captured them in all of their awesomeness.
I’m so glad you love the photos, Melissa! And I’m even more thrilled that you feel the photos capture them well – that is my favorite compliment!! 🙂
Thank you so much For capturing a moment in our lives. And I guess I should also thank Ken and Tracy Because they found you and had they not I wouldn’t have.
You are really great to work with and I would highly recommend to anyone else! Thank you once again
Oh my. These photos are awesome and warm and full of love. You captured this family’s true essence. I am Nicole’s mom and I greatly appreciate how you have brought out this family’s love through your vignette of photos and words.
