It was such a joy to be part of Kayla + Jonathan’s engagement season and their wedding day! These two have a genuine, deep love for people and for Jesus, and both were evident throughout their wedding day. From their closest friends in their bridal party to the pastor who married them, I heard all day long how much these two pour into the lives of everyone around them, and it was so precious to watch everyone they love pour back into them on their wedding day. There were SO many heartfelt moments that made up this day – like Kayla’s mama and sister helping her into her dress, Kayla + Jonathan’s no-peek letter reading, and a sweet group of women praying over Kayla in her bridal suite just before her ceremony – not to mention the words that were sung and spoken over them during the ceremony! (And y’all, these two and their friends and family know how to have a party – their dance floor was hoppin’ all. night. long!)
It has been such an honor to get to know these two this year, and I am SO excited to finally share my favorites from Kayla + Jonathan’s sunflower-y Sinkland Farm wedding day with y’all!
I loved Kayla’s shoes!!!
LOVE this fun shot of the girls in their robes that Megan took while I was finishing up details!
And then it was time to get dressed!! Kayla’s mama and older sister helped her into her gorgeous dress and they were the sweetest moments!
Then we did a little reveal to the girls before putting on her finishing touches!! I love their reactions when they saw Kayla in her dress for the first time that day!
And I couldn’t help but take a few bridal portraits in this gorgeous bridal suite! Kayla, you are stunning!!
And a few more outside where we took bridal party photos! I love this next one – it’s the kind of joy Kayla radiates all the time!
I love, love, love how well-coordinated this bridal party was!
Also, aren’t these girls absolutely gorgeous?!?
LOVE that Jonathan had a pocket square to go with his tie. I’m beginning to think I have a weird obsession with pocket squares. I really love how they complete a guy’s look!
I kind of love having the guys do a man-hug before releasing them from their groomsmen photos. It always brings out the best side of them (and a whole lot of laughs).
I’m a little obsessed with both of these slice-of-life, candid bridal party moments, below!
Then it was time for Kayla + Jonathan to read the letters they had written for each other. Such a sweet way to connect and calm nerves a bit, even without a First Look.
Then they headed to their respective suites, and this sweet group of ladies prayed over Kayla in the minutes before she walked down the aisle!
I love, love, love this ceremony site at Sinkland! (and the cloud cover we had all day actually made this venue shine at its best!)
And just that quick … Kayla + Jonathan were HUSBAND + WIFE!
Have I mentioned how well-coordinated this bridal party was?! I love the girls’ jewel-tone blue, full-length gowns with the guys’ gray suits! And the little pops of sunflower help to tie everything together!
I had to include this shot of their little ring bearer – because it’s not always possible to get the littlest members of the bridal party to smile right at the camera like this, but it sure is the cutest thing when they do! Am I right?!
I love this shot Megan got of the bridal party cheering as Kayla + Jonathan shared a kiss. These two groomsmen nailed it – I love your enthusiasm, guys! 😉
I’m also a little obsessed with this next shot of Megan’s, on the right. I love when we’re able to capture moments that feel so unassuming and natural!
Then it was time for bride + groom portraits in front of the pond! (If you look really closely, you can tell it was sprinkling a little by this time! But these two were such troopers! They didn’t complain about the rain one single time – they were just happy to be in the moment with each other, a brand new husband + wife!)
I’m a little obsessed with this next shot on the left – another one of those unassuming little moments that I just adore!
LOVE all the just-married joy in this next photo!
Love, love, love this next moment in black + white …
We broke out the clear umbrellas for a few minutes, before joining the party!
I absolutely love Megan’s angle for this shot! One of my faves from the entire day!! (Slash I really also have a soft spot in my heart for a new bride + groom sharing one of these clear bubble umbrellas, weathering the rain by pulling each other close!)
And then it was time to join the party!! Sinkland Farm has done an amazing job of nailing the rustic farm wedding reception look for their brides + grooms with this converted barn space!
Kayla + Jonathan had taken some ballroom dance classes together, and they glided and twirled so gracefully on the dance floor during their first dance – I loved it!
Loved Megan’s angle on the dip! This is why you want a second photographer on your wedding day – as a team, we were able to capture two unique angles of the same sweet moment!!
Kayla shared a dance with her dad, and Jonathan shared one with his mama.
We snuck the new bride + groom back outside for a few more portraits before we lost the sunlight – and they were SO worth it! I love, love, love these gorgeous mountain views at Sinkland!
This next one is such a fave. twirling + laughing.
Love this candid shot of Kayla!
And this classic groom portrait of Jonathan!
I’ll say it again – these two were such troopers. First with the rain during their earlier portrait time, and then again when I asked them to step a few feet into this tall grass … I’m so grateful they were willing to trust me!!
One last twirl, and one last dip with those gorgeous mountains in the background!
Then we slipped back into the party for cake + dancing!
Y’all, did I mention this dance floor was FULL for almost two straight hours?! This crew knew how to have a party.
Before we knew it, it was time to send these two newlyweds off with a sparkler exit!
Aaaand, new fave exit shot right here:
