Ohhhh my goodness, do I have a treat for you today!  I met Emily through another of my sweet mama clients (and friend!) at a small gathering earlier this year.  I was about mid-way through my second trimester at that time, and Emily told me she had a sweet little 8-month-old baby girl at home, and that was all it took for us to keep a steady conversation going for the rest of the time we were together that day!  I remember telling my husband when we left that I SO enjoyed meeting her and getting to chat with her about pregnancy and being a new mom!

We had chatted about photography the day we met, and she’d mentioned how they hadn’t had any professional photos done since before baby Sloan arrived, and she really wanted to make sure they captured this season of life before she turns a whole year old!  So I was thrilled when she reached out to me to make things official and set a date for us to do a lifestyle session in their home!

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record when I say this, but seriously, y’all – if one good thing has come out of this crazy pandemic, it’s the increase of in-home sessions with little babes that are finding their way onto my calendar!  I LOVE everything about these sessions, from documenting the nursery decor mama thoughtfully put together, to capturing that stage of life when little babes are bigger than newborns, but not quite toddlers, and even just the convenience of shooting indoors (especially in houses full of pretty natural light like this one!)!  And this little family was no exception – I loved getting to meet Emily’s husband and baby girl, and the images I walked away with after a morning spent with this little fam are some of my all-time faves already!!

Also, not going to lie – I’m a liiiittle obsessed with the gold accents on this sage green dresser!!!  all. the. heart eyes for that sweet nursery piece that will 100% grow with Sloan as she gets older!

Love capturing little baby features that we know won’t stick around forever … like itty bitty baby toes, squishy cheeks, and two-front-teeth smiles!

Aaaaand gotta finish with the sweetest little traditional family photo – the fact that we got everyone smiling at the camera is a win in and of itself, but would you believe we took this in, like, the first 5 minutes of our portrait time?!  #winning!

Emily, Ryan, thank you for allowing me to come into your home and trusting me to capture this precious, fleeting season of life for y’all.  I enjoyed every minute of it, and I adore the moments we captured and the images we created together!
