Lacey + Chad have been married for almost 6 years now, and I can only imagine how much they must feel like their life has changed since they said “I do!” They now share life with two precious little boys, and let me tell you, they’re two of the sweetest kids you’ll ever meet! (And such hams for the camera, too!) I realize I’m a little bit biased – when Lacey’s dad married my mom, it meant I was destined to be “aunt Lindsey” to these two little guys – but trust me, when I say they’re the sweetest, it’s the truth. They’re still at an age where smiles come easily, they were happy to give me a high five every time I offered, and they were quick to grab mom or dad’s hand for a photo when I asked them to – and I loved every minute of it! Watching this little family together, it’s easy to see that Lacey + Chad are intentional about spending quality time with their boys. In fact, Lacey is a consultant with USBorne Books and she is super intentional about making sure she’s raising little boys who love to read – so they brought some of their favorite books along for their session, and the images we captured on their picnic blanket with their books are some of my favorite images from their session! I’ve been so excited to share these with y’all – enjoy my favorites from this little family’s session!
We started off in downtown Culpeper, on Davis Street right by the Frost Cafe (raise your hand if you know exactly where I’m talking about!). You can even see the Frost Cafe sign in a few of these. 😉
We moved down to the opposite end of Davis Street where we found a tree with the prettiest spring blooms hanging over a wrought-iron fence. Between those spring blooms and the glowy light we had in this spot, y’all, I could have shot here all evening!
This was also the perfect place to grab a few shots of just Lacey + Chad!
FAVE family photo from this part of our session:
Halfway through our session, we headed out to my mom and Lacey’s dad’s property just outside of town, where they’re building their new home. It was the perfect casual, outdoor setting to compliment the downtown feel of the first half of our session. I felt like I just tagged along with them on a little family picnic for the evening! 😉
(Plus, y’all, get ready because this next set of outfits is AMAZING. Lacey knocked it out of the park when she put together their outfits for our session!!)
I can’t even with the boys’ outfits. The suspenders, the fedoras, the boat shoes = best. decisions. EVER.
FAVE family photo from the second half of our session:
This next one, y’all. It’s one of those images that will be a career favorite of mine forever.
I loved taking a few photos of just Lacey + Chad here, too! Definitely some of my faves! (Also, obsessed with Lacey’s floppy hat.)
Also, so many favorites of Lacey. I mean, can you blame me??
Don’t worry, there are a few faves of Chad in here too… 😉
Umm, peep Chase’s face in this next shot. I can’t even.
I love, love, love this next shot of Lacey + Chad.
It only feels fitting to end the blog post with this sweet, quiet moment between the two who started it all … 🙂
Lacey, Chad, thank you so much for letting me spend the evening with y’all and the boys. I can’t even tell you how much I enjoyed it! I hope you love these images and that they’ll always remind you of the sweetest things this season of life holds for you!
Oh. My. Gosh! I think I might just cry! So adorable and beautiful! I can see why you had so many faves. I agree with you, that last pic of Lacey and Chad is precious! ❤️ Thank you Lindsey! Your work is amazing!
I can’t even put into words how much I love these photos! ❤ You are seriously the sweetest and have such a gift! The boys love you and did so well during our session thanks to you. Thank you, thank you for capturing these special moments for us to have forever!! You’re the best! ❤❤ xoxo
I am SO glad you love the photos, Lacey! I loved getting to spend the evening with you and the boys – your little family is a treasure and I’m so glad I got to capture this season for you! 🙂
