OK, for real, how cute are these two together? ADORABLE, I know. And they are just as sweet as they are adorable. I’m blessed to be able to say that James and Laura are close friends of mine and Jason’s! These two are always smiling, and it’s always so refreshing to be around them. It was SO much fun to do an anniversary session for them because I was able to actually watch them interact with each other (as opposed to Laura and I chatting about real estate or getting sucked into meaningless youtube videos, while the boys talk about … whatever it is they talk about! haha!)! These two could hardly stop laughing and giggling at each other (even without my prompts for fake laughs, which turn into real laughs…), and it made their session super relaxed, which made my job super easy! : )
I love shooting anniversary sessions because they’re the not-always-perfect-but-still-happily-ever-after part of the marriage story. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE shooting engagements and weddings! But there’s something deeper to an anniversary session that doesn’t always get celebrated as often as it should. Anniversary couples have “earned their stripes,” so to speak. Their love has been tested, and it’s grown stronger as a result. These two have been married almost 6 years, and they’ve had their share of challenges during those years. But here they are, happy and giggly and still in love. And I loved documenting it!! Enjoy some of my faves!
Can we talk about how they NAILED some model faces/poses in this next shot?? I’m not even sure this was on purpose! Ha!
Are you starting to see what I mean about the giggling?? : )
Can I just say that I love finding epic portrait locations in the most unassuming places?? The rest of these were taken near an abandoned building right off of Franklin Street!
I absolutely loooved the glowy light here and love this romantic shot!
Aaaaand model faces, one more time…
Thank you, James and Laura, for letting me document this season of your “ever after.” : ) Love y’all!
