Oh, these two! It literally took about 15 seconds on the phone with Emily for me to realize just how much I would enjoy working with them! They are the kind of people you just enjoy being around, the kind of people who leave you feeling refreshed after you’ve spent time with them. You know the kind of people I mean. The ones you instantly consider friends because they are so genuinely warm and inviting. And on their wedding day, it was so easy to see where they get that from – both of these families were amazing, and it was such a pleasure to be invited into this day and to have the opportunity to serve and get to know each of these families.
Emily and Hunter chose to have a shorter engagement – Hunter proposed at the end of July and they were married on October 16! Because at the end of the day, what mattered to these two was that they were ready to be husband and wife. Ready to start this new life together. Above all else, starting their marriage together was what was most important. And y’all, everything just fell together perfectly in those 2 1/2 months. We were able to schedule their engagement session and Emily’s bridal session between the end of August and beginning of October, she was able to have her stunning dress ready in time, and all of the details just fell right into place. There is definitely some heavenly favor on this marriage, that is for sure. 🙂 And after some technical difficulties in December that kept me from sharing this post sooner, I am SO excited to finally share my favorites from this joyful wedding day at The Columns at Six Penny Farm!
Emily, Hunter, I hope you enjoy re-living these sweet moments from the first day of the rest of your life together!
I am in LOVE with this image by my talented second shooter, Carissa, of Emily & Hunter’s rings with their handwritten vows. <3
Isn’t Emily’s bouquet stunning?! Her mom did all of her floral arrangements and they were so perfect!
Love this shot of Emily and her sisters!
Isn’t Emily the most gorgeous bride?
EMILY! Seriously, you are stunning!
These two chose to do a first look, and I am so glad they did! These are some of the sweetest moments!
Emily had told me Hunter shed a few tears when he proposed, so she said she wouldn’t be surprised if he did the same during their first look – and she was right! y’all, it was the sweetest. (aaand I’d be lying if I said I didn’t tear up right along with him! haha!)
Then we took their first few bride & groom portraits of the day!
This next shot is another one of Carissa’s that I just love!
and I’m a little obsessed with this quiet, romantic frame on the left. ahh, so sweet!
Just like everyone else involved in this wedding day, the ladies and gents that stood by Emily & Hunter’s side were amazing – they were so helpful (that makes such a huge difference on a wedding day!), and it was so easy to see how genuinely happy they were for these two! Everyone was incredibly relaxed and these laughs came so easily! It was kind of the best. 🙂
Another of my favorites from Carissa! …
This next one has to be one of my top favorites of the girls! It so perfectly captures the joy that surrounded this entire day!
They had beautiful Virginia countryside as the backdrop for their ceremony!
I love this precious moment when Hunter sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle towards him!
And this moment when Emily’s dad gives Hunter her hand. Ahh, cue the tears!
Such a powerful moment – each set of parents praying over this new marriage.
And just like that, they’re HUSBAND & WIFE!
The ceremony wrapped up a little bit early, so we took full advantage of the opportunity to take some more bride & groom portraits! We snuck off to one of my favorite little unassuming spots that this gorgeous venue has to offer!
Then it was time to join their party!!
We snuck out of the reception just as the sun was setting for our last few bride & groom portraits – and, y’all. They were SO. worth. it! ALL the heart eyes.
Another of my favorites from Carissa – isn’t this wide shot absolutely breathtaking?! GAH! I can’t even.
Back to the party!
Emily, Hunter, I can’t thank y’all enough for the privilege of being part of this season with you. It was truly such a joy to capture these moments for you and your families.
Sending you the biggest hugs, always! <3
