Amber and Josh’s wedding day was just perfect!  It was a much warmer day than we expected (at least, as warm as it gets in Virginia at the end of February!), the sun was peeking through the clouds, and the bride and groom were ready.  There were no nervous jitters, no anxious fretting.  As their closest family and trusted friends put the finishing touches on their intimate ceremony space, Amber and Josh casually chatted with friends and family and Amber joked playfully with her daughter, London. There was such a calm peace around Amber and Josh, because they were just so ready to start this new chapter of life, together.

The ceremony, in a beautiful timber-frame room with a wall of full-length windows and Floyd mountains in the background, was relaxed, genuine, and full of laughs and sweet tears.  Amber and Josh invited guests to speak blessings over their marriage at the end of the ceremony, and it was such a sweet, sweet time of sharing!  After a short break, that beautiful, natural-light-soaked room became a reception space complete with the most adorable cupcakes, and even photo booth props!

After toasts were given and dinner and cupcakes were eaten, Amber, Josh, and I snuck outside for some portrait time that ended with the most beautiful golden light!  We didn’t have time to do an engagement session before their wedding, so these two hadn’t had any warm-up time in front of the camera – but y’all, seriously, you can’t. even. tell!!  Just like the rest of their day, their portraits were relaxed and sweet and so genuine!  Josh so naturally wrapped Amber in sweet, gentle embraces, and Amber just lit up when he pulled her close.  Amber and Josh, y’all made my job too easy!

Josh, Amber, thank you for trusting me to document this day for you.  It was an honor and a joy, and I hope these images will always remind you of just how you felt on this day, when you started this beautiful adventure called marriage!  Enjoy some of my favorites!!
